Note: If the Still Image Monitor is disabled then the “Start” button on the front of the

scanner cannot be used to launch an application.

After the system has rebooted, use the same steps described in the “Steps to reproduce the

issue” section above to verify that the problem has gone away.

Note: In some cases this workaround may NOT work. The only solution in this case is to

have the scanner on when the PC is shut down. There is no harm leaving the scanner on for

extended periods of time, as it will go into power saving mode after approximately 15

minutes.
