To replace an ink cartridge, follow these steps.

1. Make sure the printer is on. Determine which cartridge needs

to be replaced as indicated by the

B black or

A color ink

out light.

Note:

If you press the

cleaning button when the

B ink out light is off

or the

cleaning button when the

A ink out light is off, the

printer starts cleaning that print head.

2. Lower the output tray at the front of the printer, if necessary;

then open the printer cover. You see the

and

cleaning

buttons.

3. Hold down the

cleaning button (depending on which

ink you need to replace) for three seconds. The print heads

move left, to the black or color ink cartridge replacement

position as shown below, and the

P power light flashes.

Caution:

Do not move the print heads by hand. Always press the

cleaning button or the

cleaning button to move them;

otherwise you may damage the printer.
