Problems and Solutions
Check the solutions below if youre having trouble using your printer.
Printing Problems
Make sure your paper is loaded printable side up, short edge first, and against
the right side with the edge guide against it (see page 6 and page 8).
Dont load paper above the arrow mark inside the sheet feeder edge guide.
Load only one sheet of compatible paper using the single sheet guide (see
page 8).
Make sure the paper size settings in the printer software are correct for the
paper you loaded.
If the P power and I paper lights are flashing and printing has stopped,
make sure the printer cover is closed. Leaving the printer cover open stops or
prevents printing.
I paper flashing
H ink flashing fast
The front manual feed slot cover is open while printing
from paper loaded in the sheet feeder. Remove paper
loaded to print on thick media or a CD/DVD or close the
front manual feed slot cover to print on paper loaded in
the sheet feeder (see page 32 to locate the front
manual feed slot cover). Press the
I paper button to
clear the error.
P power on

An unsupported device is connected to the external
USB port. Connect only a PictBridge compatible digital
camera to the external USB port (see the on-screen
Reference Guide).
P power off

Parts inside the R2880 Series are at the end of their
service life or an unknown error has occurred. Contact
Epson for help (see page 54).
P power off

fast
The print head is obstructed by paper or other foreign
material. Turn off the printer, remove any obstructions,
and turn it back on. If the error persists, contact Epson
(see page 54).
