Printer Software

The printer software includes a printer driver and printer

utilities. The printer driver lets you choose from a wide variety

of settings to get the best results from your printer. The printer

utilities help you check the printer and keep it in top condition.

There are four levels of settings:

Automatic setting The quickest and easiest way to start

printing. See page 4-5.

Predefined settings More control over printer settings

according to the kind of printout.

See page 4-6.

Custom settings Fit your individual needs.

See page 4-8.

Printout style settings Convenient functions for the printout

(Windows 95 and NT 4.0) method and style. See page 4-12.

To check the condition of the printer or perform a maintenance

procedure, go to page 4-15.

Accessing the Printer Software

You can access the printer driver settings and printer utilities

directly from any Windows application, or from My Computer

(Windows 95 and NT 4.0) or Program Manager (Windows 3.1).

The print settings made in many Windows applications

override similar settings made in the printer driver, so in most

cases you should access the printer software from your

application to make sure that the settings are appropriate for

the document you want to print.
