Downloading simulation proﬁles

The RIP Station comes with ten factory-installed simulation proﬁles. It is possible to

download additional simulations from any workstation connected to the RIP Station.

TO DOWNLOAD A SIMULATION PROFILE:

1. Launch ColorWise Pro Tools and click the Proﬁle Manager.

The left-hand side of the main Proﬁle Manager windows lists the ICC proﬁles in the default

directory of your workstation.

For Windows 95/98, the default directory is \Windows\System\Color

For Windows NT 4.0, the default directory is \Winnt\System32\Color

For Mac OS, the default directory is System Folder:Preferences:ColorSync

Proﬁles if you

have ColorSync 2.0, and System Folder:ColorSync

if you have ColorSync 2.5

2. If the desired proﬁle does not appear, you can browse to a different directory by clicking

Browse.

OTE: You cannot browse using Mac OS. To access an ICC proﬁle, it must be placed in the

default directory.

3. Browse to the directory containing the proﬁle you want to download and click OK.

4. When the proﬁle you wish to download appears in the list in the main Proﬁle Manager

window, select it.

5. If the proﬁle is compatible with the RIP Station, a green arrow will indicate that the proﬁle

is available for download.

OTE: All ICC proﬁles in the selected directory on your workstation are displayed in the

list in the main Proﬁle Manager window. Just because a proﬁle is listed does not mean it can

be downloaded to the RIP Station. Only those proﬁles with a device class of printer and an

output color space of CMYK are compatible with the RIP Station.

6. Click the arrow to download the proﬁle.

7. Click OK when the download is complete.

The new proﬁle now appears on the list of simulation proﬁles on the right-hand side of the

main Proﬁle Manager window.
