Replacing Consumable Products
Precautions During Replacement
Always observe the following handling precautions when replacing consumable products.
For details about the replacement, see the instructions that come with the consumable products.

Warning:
Be careful not to touch the fuser, which is marked CAUTION, or the surrounding areas. If the
printer has been in use, the fuser and surrounding areas may be very hot.
Do not dispose of used consumable products in fire, as they may explode and cause injury.
Dispose of them according to local regulations.
Provide enough space for the replacement procedure. You will have to open some parts (such as
the printer cover) of the printer when you are replacing consumables.
Do not install used consumable products into the printer.
For details about the handling precautions, see “Handling consumable products” on page 17.
Replacement Messages
If a consumable product reaches the end of its service life, the printer displays the following messages
on the LCD panel or the window of EPSON Status Monitor.
LCD Panel Message Description
Replace Toner uuuu
*
The toner cartridge for the indicated color has reached the end of its service life.
Replace Photocon uuuu
*
The photoconductor unit for the indicated color has reached the end of its service
life.
Replace Waste Toner Box The waste toner box has reached the end of its service life.
*
The color Cyan(C), Magenta(M), Yellow(Y), or Black(K) appears in this position, indicating the color of the toner cartridge
or photoconductor unit to be replaced. For example, the message Replace Toner Yellow(Y) means that the yellow
toner cartridge is near the end of its service life.
