Installing FastRIP

on a MAC OSX

Install the Regular Inkjet Driver First

Although FastRIP

has its own printer drivers, you must install the printer driver

that came with your printer in order to utilize utility programs like Head Cleaning

and Nozzle Checks. These are only available for use with the standard inkjet

printer driver.

DO NOT install the EPSON Stylus RIP Postscript driver. This driver can confuse

the FastRIP

installation. If you have already installed this driver, delete the

Postscript Epson printer driver and re-install only the standard driver.

Ensure you have the most current inkjet driver. You should go to

www.epson.com and download the most current USB driver for the EPSON

4800, EPSON 7800 or EPSON 9800.

After FastRIP

, is installed you will have TWO EPSON drivers - the normal

driver and one that FastRIP

uses.

FastRIP

OSX and Graphic Programs

Native OSX Programs

FastRIP

OSX will only print direct from a native OSX program through

FastRIP

. Native MAC OSX programs are Adobe Photoshop 7 and higher,

Adobe Illustrator 10 and higher, Adobe InDesign 2 and higher, Macromedia

Freehand 10 and higher or QuarkXPress 6 and higher.

Classic Environment MAC OSX Programs

You will not be able to print from the MAC OSX Classic Environment. Classic

Environment MAC OSX programs are Adobe Photoshop 6 and below, Adobe

Illustrator 9 and below, Macromedia Freehand 9 and below or QuarkXPress 5

and below. To use FastRIP

, you must upgrade your graphics program.

FastRIP CD

The FastRIP CD contains a 20 day trial version of FastFILMS, a complete

catalog of all volumes of FastART, a catalog of all the effects available with

FastFX, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Sample files, and of course, FastRIP
