LPD Networking

The LPD Networking option is required when “Remote computers”will be sending jobs

to the Host computer over a TCP/IP network.

Note: This option should not be installed unless a TCP/IP has been configured correctly

and is up and running.

Printer Support Files

After the LPD Networking checkbox, there are checkboxes for major printer

manufacturers. By selecting a checkboxes, all the support files for printers from that

manufacturer will be installed.

Remote Install

The Remote Install option is for “Remote computers”that will be sending jobs to a Host

computer via either AppleTalk or LPD networking. The LaserWriter driver will be

installed in the Chooser, and PPD files will be installed for the printer, but the full

FastRIP

application will not be installed. Refer to page 34 for more details.

Running the Installer

After you have clicked on Continue in the Installer window,

FastRIP

will install all of the necessary components on your

hard drive. At the end of the installation you will be asked to re-

boot your computer. Click Ok.

Once installation of FastRIPTM has been completed, the FastRIP

folder will be available from the previously chosen Install Location. It

may also open from your Desktop.
