Printing from a Graphics Application
You now have TWO printer drivers installed. One is the normal inkjet driver and
the other is for FastRIP
TM
. The normal Epson driver in the Chooser will be called
SC 3000, SPro 7800-DYE, SPro 9800-Dye etc. The normal Epson driver on MAC
OS X driver will be called Stylus Pro 4000, Stylus Pro 4800, etc. In MAC OS , the
FastRIP
TM
printer will be called FastRIP LW 8.7. With MAC OSX, it will be called
what you named it when the driver was installed.
1. Load a sheet of clear FastPOS
TM
or FastPOS
TM
WP film in your inkjet
printer with the ink receptive side up. (The ink receptive side is the side
that is sticky if you lick your finger and touch the film.)
2. Open FastRIP
TM
and your favorite graphics application- Photoshop,
CorelDraw, Illustrator or Freehand. In your application, select your image,
create the color separations and set the halftone frequency, dot shape and
angle.
NOTE: For Adobe Illustrator 9.0 or higher and Freehand you must also
load a PPD file. (For detailed instructions see page 39.)
3. (MAC OS 9) Select the FastRIP LW 8.7 printer from the Chooser and go
to File>Page (or Print) Setup. Select FastRIP Epson and click Ok. Go to
File>Print and expand the General menu. Select Printer Extensions 1.
Expand the Print Mode menu and select FastRIP - Standard Density.
Select Print.
(MAC OSX) Select File>Page (or Print) Setup and choose your FastRIP
TM
printer under Format For. Set your Page Size and click Ok. Go to
File>Print and select your FastRIP
TM
printer. Expand the Copies and
Pages menu to select Printer Features. From the Print Mode menu, select
FastRIP - Standard Density. Select Print.
